Into DC

Today, at around nine, we took public transit into DC. When we left our campground, the weather was nice and sunny, when we got off of the Metro, it was cold, windy, and rainy. We walked to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. We didn’t spend museum, but we made haste to the Museum of Natural History to avoid being outside, and we spent 45 minutes or so looking around, mostly in the ocean exhibit, then we ate lunch on the side of a building that blocked the wind and rain from us. And after lunch we walked back up to the Natural History Museum and spent another hour or so looking around. Some of the highlights of the museum was the human evolution exhibit, learning about amazing deep sea organisms, and my mom learning that narwhals were not a thing of myths. After the Natural History Museum, we walked across the National Mall to the Air and Space Museum, and looked around for another hour, some of the highlights of that museum was learning about and seeing parts of the Apollo 11, the rocket that delivered Armstrong and Aldrin to the moon, I also learned a lot about the Wright brother, and saw the Spirit of St. Lewis, which is best known for being the first plane to fly across the Atlantic ocean. After the Air and Space Museum, we walked back to the Metro, and rode it back to our car, which we drove 15 minutes back to the RV.
