Organ Pipe Mountains

There is a mountain range just outside of Las Cruces called Organ Pipe Mountains, and that is where we went this afternoon. When we got there we went to the visitor center where the ranger recommended a hike for us to do. The hike was to a cave that was once a home to a hermit. Then we went on another hike, this time with no destination, because we were running out of time. We hope to go on some longer hikes at the Organ Pipe Mountains later in the week.

  1. Rhyolite is an extrusive igneous rock formed during eruptions of granitic magma. Pumice, obsidian, and tuff are associated rock types.

    And you’ve climbed on it!
